What is Hydronic Heat?
A hydronic heating system uses water to transport the heat rather than air. The thermal
energy produced by the heat source (a boiler) is transported by hot water to the living space.
What are the Benefits of Hydronic Heat?
Quieter and Cleaner Operation
A properly designed hydronic heating system is quiet, comfortable and non-intrusive.
Benefits:
No noise.
Dust, pollen, and odors are not moved throughout the home.
No need to clean heating ducts which accumulate dust and dirt over time.
Elimination of dust streaks which are usually evident at ceiling and wall diffusers.
Zone Control
By using different thermostats and pumps (or zone valves) to break up a home into separately controlled segments.
Benefits:
Allows cost savings due to not having to heat the entire house at all times.
Allows different comfort levels throughout the home.
Domestic Hot Water
Provides Hot Water for bathing, washing dishes and clothes, etc.
Benefits:
Saves money.
Cheaper than electric hot water.
Reduces reliance for external energy sources.
Extended System Life
Hot water boilers will out-last their hot air counterparts.
Benefit:
Lower costs over the life of the system.
Higher Efficiency
More miles per gallon. Water is a more effective heat exchange medium than air.
Benefit:
Lower fuel bills
