HS-Tarm boilers are designed for hydronic heating systems. In these
systems, water heated by the wood fire is circulated throughout the house
to radiate baseboard heating elements.
Hydronic heating with baseboard offers several advantages:
- It is cleaner because it is a sealed system. Dust and dirt in one
room doesn't get picked up and blown out in another room. Because there
is less dust and dirt being blown around it means that drapes, rugs
and furniture stay clean longer. Cleaning bills are reduced and it's
easier to keep your house clean.
- Hot water heating provides a more healthy and comfortable home environment.
The radiant heat warms you like the rays of the sun, and the convective
heat gently circulates the air in each room. Because the baseboard elements
spread their low level heat along the outside walls, cold drafts are
neutralized. This gives more even heat with fewer drafts and fewer colds
for you and your family. Sit anywhere in the room and feel warm and
comfortable.
- Because there is no blower, your house is quieter and more peaceful
with hot water heat. You don't even know the heating system is working
except for the fact that you are warm.
- Hot water baseboard heating takes up less space. The small pipes can
easily be concealed in ceilings so you can easily finish off your basement.
The baseboard heating elements hug the wall and can be painted to blend
with the room's decor.
- With hot water heat, it is much easier to control the heat at different
levels in each area of your home. You can have as many different zones
of heat as you desire. Each floor can have its own thermostat, or each
bathroom, or the North side and South side of your home.
- Boilers heating hot water are more efficient than hot air systems.
Our Multi-fuel boilers burn oil or gas with efficiencies of 83% - 87%.
Most hot air systems operate at 80% - 83% efficiencies.
You can see why hot water heating with baseboard is very popular. Your
home is cleaner, more healthy and comfortable, quieter, more flexible
and efficient.
